The first episode of Faraar went on air last night. It has graced our screens shortly after Gentleman. And we can rightly say that Green Entertainment is shifting from typical romantic and family sagas to action/crime/thriller genres with this new story. The main ingredient is Bhai Log-type people with political and power battles. Other tracks from Lahore and Swabi cities are also part of the story. Let’s have a look at what the first episode has offered us:
Character introduction
The main conflict of the story and the characters are clearly explained in the first episode. Though, their background settings, present circumstances, and future endeavors may look different at the moment, however, sooner or later they are going to be on a single point while chasing their aspirations and dreams. With the characters and settings intro, we can feel that a complex romance, life-threatening conflicts, enmities, political battlegrounds, etc. have hit our screens all in one and simultaneously.
Story and script
Mustafa Afridi, the writer of Faraar, has penned many TV plays with various shades of life, and the enthralling Faraar is no exception. He is also a great dialogue writer who knows how to explain the inner feelings of a character with words. Crime scenes, violence against women, and family issues – we have all the flavors in the initial episode. No doubt, Faraar is going to be another hit by Afridi and Green Entertainment so far as the story is concerned. As the title suggests, they all are on a quest for redemption where they can live the life of their choice.
Performance
In the very first episode, we have seen the characters performing well. Nadia Jameel looks like a typical Lahori wife whose husband is having an affair with another girl. In Swabi, the two Pashtun archers and the people around them have another look and feel in speaking accent, dressing, and background settings. We will enjoy various tastes in a single story that is for sure.
Videography, and story sequence
The establishing shot is with a drone cam. We can say that the videography gives us a feel of cinematic experience. The three different locations in the story are established through extremely wide shots. The first episode has given us a great peep into the three different tracks yet maintaining the interest and grabbing the viewers’ attention.
Production and direction team
Syed Wajahat Hussain and Musaddiq Malik have brought the story to life with their directional skills. The entire team has done a very well and thought-provoking first episode by hooking the audience. The drama is a combined production by Next Level Entertainment and Green Entertainment. Both the big and promising names have done a great job so far. The initial episode has hooked us and hopefully, the upcoming episodes will be more interesting.
What to expect next?
We have seen the story being filmed in three places: Karachi, Lahore, and Swabi. As the description of the story on social media tells us the very different characters are going to intersect at a crossroads, it is going to be a fascinating tale with many unexpected twists and turns. Batish (Hamza Ali Abbasi), Nazish (Sohai Ali Abro), Fasih (Ahmad Ali Akbar), and Sadia (Mamya Shajaffar) all are battling against the conflicts life has thrown their way. Let’s wait and see as to who is going to have what.
