The much-awaited Mehshar has gone on air with Neelum Munir and Imran Abbas as the lead couple. It is a tale of love (one-sided), sacrifice, and family traditions that can become shackles for someone. Let’s have a look at the intro episodes to find out what it is to offer to the viewers.
Story and script
The story and script is written by Aamra Shahid. The first two episodes of the serial have given us a good hint that the story is about two egoistic lovers, especially the male ego of Abdul Rehman (Imran Abbas) which can be devastating for the couple. Aima (Neelam Muneer) and Abdul Rehman are two opposite-natured persons who are bound in a relationship that appears to fall apart at any time. We are to see many repeated things in this story like a stubborn man with a docile female lover or wife.
Direction and production
Syed Ramish Rizvi is the director who has worked with Geo also before this drama. It looks like a typical Geo TV drama with a family and marital story. The duo of Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi have high expectations with Mehshar and the likes of the first two episodes are enough to please them. With Mehshar we can hope it to be another great hit like Tere Bin.
Videography and lighting; production design
The wide-angle aerial and drone shots with far-reaching fields and wide green patches clearly show us that the story is shot in a traditional haveli-type environment. The locations are well-lit and well-decorated. The props and other things depict the atmosphere of a typical haveli. Locations are big bungalows or mansions as the story demands.
Performance
Neelum Muneer and Imran Abbas have given a great performance like their previous drama Ehraam-e-Junoon. This is now the viewers’ favorite on-screen couple. The intense love story with conflicting situations and twists coming their way. Neelum is a favorite TV star who has made her presence felt in many serials with her compelling performance. Imran Abbas is also performing a splendid character after Khuda or Mohabbat. Usman Peerzada, Mehmood Akhtar, and other female actors like Shaheen Khan and Humiara Bano have acted their characters like they should be.
What to expect next?
Being an egoistic person, the male lead is going to be a hard person to put up with for a girl like Aima who may sacrifice her desires for the honor of her parents. The elders have decided on their marriage and rejected the proposal of Mani (Mirza Zain Baig). This decision is going to wreak havoc in the lives of both the male and female lead. Abdul Rehman will try to control Aima as a fiancé or husband and she will be like a compromising lady. As he is not willing to marry her, he takes revenge for the elders’ decision from Aima.
