The first two episodes of Diyar e Yaar have gone on air. The story of love, sacrifice, and relationships based on compulsion are at the core of this story. At first glance, the story appears to become a love triangle in the later stages. Let’s have a look at what the first two episodes have on offer for the viewers:
Story and script
Jahanzeb Qamar has penned the story of Diyar e Yaar. It is a typical story depicting a vast class difference but with an interesting plot and setting. Deebaj (Mikaal Zulfiqar) is a playboy with a wealthy background while Shahmir (Zaviyar Nauman) is the son of his father’s late friend. Rubab (Mah e Noor Haider) loves Shahmir but a wide gulf of differences lies between them. Family and in-laws politics, marrying a girl as soon as possible, financial constraints, male assertiveness, late-night parties of high class, insecurities of a mother under the burden of beneficence, spending time with girls instead of having a life partner have been shown rightly. The writer has displayed the difference in culture and traditions between the two classes in the right manner.
Performance
Mikaal as usual looks fine in his character as a rich guy. Zaviyar, however, looks a bit old in the role of a college student. Jinaan Hussain looks great as a typical bhabi. Mah e Noor has also played the character accordingly of a middle-class college girl. She is bold and can fight for her right to marriage and love. This new phenomenon of a bold and outspoken heroine has been introduced in Green Entertainment dramas which shows us that a non-typical female character also exists.
Direction
Aabis Raza has chosen a great theme with a superstar like Mikaal this time. We can call it one of the best dramas of his career so far. Previously we have seen Jalan directed by him which faced a short ban by PERMA.
Videography
Indoor and outdoor locations have shot well. We see new locations rather than a few repeated ones in certain dramas which brings a fresh look to our screens. Camera equipment is also up to the mark with high-quality filming.
What to expect next?
As the promos suggest, the encounter between Deebaj and Rubab at the end of the second episode is going to wreak havoc in Rubab’s life. When a low-character man makes something as his ego problem, he becomes a devil and we will see the same thing with Deebaj. The love of Shahmir will have to endure a three-dimensional test as he has to face his mother, Rubab, and Deebaj.
Mikaal has a wide fan following so Diyaar e Yaar looks to become a favorite drama of our audience soon.
