The 20th and 21st episodes of Main Manto Nahi Hoon aired this weekend. With Mehmal’s (Sajal Ali) marriage now ending, the focus shifts to her feelings for senior professor Manto (Humayun Saeed), who is nearly 25 years her senior.

Story and script:
The story has come to the point where Manto is hospitalized and lying unconscious with a bullet in his belly, and Mehmal is sitting by his side trying to bring him back to consciousness.
The story is the result of the hard work of Khalil-ul-Rehman Qamar. Mr. Khalil can rightly be called an expert on the subject of love. However, this time the romance is not at all matchable in terms of the age of the two lead characters.

Family feuds and romance are incorporated with each other, with the story having many layers of conflict.
Production and direction:
Main Manto Nahi Hoon is directed by Nadeem Baig and produced by Humayun Saeed and his production house, along with ARY Digital. It has been shot at the real locations, including the university. The cast includes the mega stars of our industry. Nadeem Baig has brought one of the best performances by Sajal to the screen. Also, he has presented a near-perfect and flawless look of Saima Noor as a senior character.

Performance:
All the actors have done a great job in performing their roles, but the acting of Saima Noor as Surayya stands apart. During last week’s episodes, she gave a light dance performance on a song, Dil diyan lagiyan, which was rightly applauded. Sajal Ali and Humayun Saeed have given one of their career-best performances in the serial, which the viewers will remember for a long time. Saba Hameed, Babar Ali, and Asif Raza Mir are fitted into their characters.

What to expect next?
One thing is pretty sure: Mehmal loves Manto, and eventually, they will be united in the end. However, what comes next to test their patience and courage is yet to be seen. Things seem to be more tangled in the coming episodes. The next moves of Surayya and Bin Yameen will be interesting. Let’s wait and see what is in store.
