Over the past many years, Babbar Javaid has emerged as a notable producer in Pakistani television. His recent dramas, Judwaa and Raaja Rani, performed well on both TV and digital platforms. Combined, they have surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube, highlighting significant audience engagement.

Judwaa starring Aina Asif in a double role, which aired in the 7 pm slot, maintained strong TRPs and got over 1.8 Billion views, despite being a daily drama, a format often considered challenging to sustain. The drama not only was part of YouTube trends in Pakistan but contstantly in India as well. Raaja Rani, aired in the 8 pm prime-time slot starring Faysal Quraishi and Hina Afridi in the lead roles, sustained steady ratings throughout its run.

Attention has now turned to Humrahi, Babbar Javaidβs next major project. This drama marks his return as a director after nearly 12 years. Taking on both producing and directing roles allows him full creative control over the project.
Humrahi features large-scale production and international filming locations. The drama was shot in Karachi and Murree, with extended schedules in Turkey, the United States, and London. Such a production scope remains rare in Pakistani television and suggests an effort to raise visual quality. Behind-the-scenes content from these locations has already attracted interest online, particularly among overseas viewers.

Written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, known for her audience-friendly storytelling, Humrahi brings together experienced talent both behind and in front of the camera. The lead pairing of Danish Taimoor and Hiba Bukhari has drawn attention, given their strong track records and prior collaborations.
The original soundtrack (OST) is also generating discussion. Music often plays a role in a dramaβs reception and digital popularity, and expectations are naturally high given BJ Productionβs recent track record.
Set to air on Geo Entertainment, Humrahi faces the challenge of following two well-received projects with strong ratings and online viewership. Except Humrahi, Babbar Javaid Production’s two dramas, Ghulam Bashah Sundri and Maa are also about to start on Green Entertainment Channel and will be interesting to see how all these project are received by the audience.
