So finally we saw the happy ending of Noor Jahan — after so much emotional turmoil in the family and the characters going through an ordeal. After 30+ episodes of the drama, all the characters were happily settled down under one roof, with all the conflicts resolved. At last, the viewers also took a sigh of relief. Let’s have a look at how the last two episodes went:
Story and script
Zanjabeel Asim has summed up the story well in the last two episodes with the conflicts reaching their peak and then the resolution after all the height of sentiments. The confession of mistakes, suffering and the desire to take revenge coming to an end in the form of forgiveness and a happy reunion, a birthday party bringing the family back home, smiling faces on the dining table, and ultimate happiness – that way the writer and the team ended the story on a hopeful and pleasing note.
Performance
Saba Hameed has nailed the character of Noor Jahan. Throughout the story, we have seen her giving a complete performance even in a senior character. Others have also done admirably good acting, especially Zoya Nasir (Maha) as an assertive wife and daughter-in-law who gives Noor Jahan a tough time. Kubra Khan (Noor Bano) also negotiated well with the shades of her character. The three sons too did their best in their respective roles.
The pace and mood of the last two episodes
The pace seems a bit slow when the main character, Noor Jahan, is left alone. That slow pace and loneliness of the character with not much to offer is tackled with flashbacks. Some of the scenes are gloomy with little light. Characters fight with their inner conflicts with the family getting separated. In the end, they get the reward of their patience and are together as a whole
Videography and locations
Indoor and outdoor locations are mostly lavish homes and farmhouses with a lot of props and décor. Capturing these details needs to have long/tilt/extra-long shots that look unnecessary at times.
Character transformation for Noor Jahan and Noor Bano
Noor Jahan keeps on controlling her sons and their wives but in the last two episodes, she realizes that human relations can’t remain imprisoned. They need space and time to blossom. Families get shattered under a single person’s control and power. That realization comes only after she loses her power and control. She stays lonely for a few months and this thing transforms her character. She learns the lesson after suffering the greatest loss. She confesses her mistakes generously. That transformation brings the separated family together once again.
Noor Bano also goes through a change. Having been separated, she also decides to leave the path of revenge as it leads nowhere except loneliness.
Story ending and moral
The story ends with the family happily together under one roof which was relieving to see after such a long turbulence for the three daughters-in-law. This is a typical story with some aspects being repeated in many dramas but it gives us great moral that the shackles of power of a single person can’t keep the family intact. Relationships and families stay together only when they can breathe freely. The biggest power is love, not revenge. Also, we get a moral lesson on gender equality for sons and daughters which our society needs a lot.
The love versus revenge story of Noor Jahan has proved to be successful with a reforming and positive message.
