Twelve episodes of the drama serial Ghulam Bashah Sundri have gone on air by now. New layers of the story and characters are unfolding as the narrative advances. New secrets are also emerging. Not only does the young generation face new and tougher conflicts, but the old generation is on the verge of a crisis. This crisis is sentimental and will have deep impacts on the story as well.
Let’s have a look at the two episodes:

Screenplay and story:
The sudden, somewhat negative, and transformative things are happening and going to happen soon. During the two episodes, the story has moved forward, but in a way that past things are surfacing, with little new things emerging. Sundri (Hina Afridi) is now alone after the death of her father (Ali Khan). The sequence of events can bring her closer to Ghulam (Imran Ashraf).
Performance:
All three actors are performing well according to their respective characters. Bashah (Zaviyar Nauman) is performing well in a layered character, with the shades of a lover, son, politician, a nephew, and a friend or brother of Ghulam. He is doing really well in the negative and positive layers of his character. When he talks to his phuppo Khursheed (Tazeen Hussian), he looks very different from a person who goes to visit dancers at night.

Also, the supporting cast is doing well, like Ali Khan, Salma Asim, Shehzad Nawaz, and Saima Qureshi. Their characters are no less substantial than the lead ones.
Production team and writer:
Babar Javaid, as the producer of this drama serial, has brought an impactful story to the screen. Zanjabeel Asim Shah can rightly be called the busiest drama writer at the moment. We have recently seen Pamaal written by her. With the drama under review, she has come up with another powerful narrative. We can have an insightful knowledge of the miserable life of low-level people, especially women who are oppressed and victimized in many ways. Also, we can see positive and good characters like Ghulam emerging from the same class.

What to expect next?
The latest two episodes have been testing the patience of the lead and other characters. Jahandaad (Shahzad Nawaz) is the most distressed person, as his past is no longer going to remain a secret. He has to be answerable for his previous wrongdoings and oppressions. That is really an interesting change, and we will see how the writer and her production team will tackle this delicate situation.
It looks quite engaging how Zanjabeel Asim turns the story into an impactful and justifiable one during the next episodes, as one of the strongest characters, Jahandaad, is now in a blind alley. How does he react to the dead end, that is yet to be seen. So, let’s wait for another set of gripping episodes.
