Mayi Ri Episode 48 & 49 review: Annie’s expulsion from the school, Samina loosening grip on the business
These two episodes of Mayi Ri have forwarded the story ahead and the conflicts are getting harder and harsher for the characters. Annie (Aina Asif) is finding her life in a constant phase of difficulties and so are the others.
The sudden death of Annie’s uncle (phuppa) has unveiled the masked faces of Habib and Raheela. Despite being a brother, Habib doesn’t want to share the responsibility of taking care of his widowed sister, Fehmida. This thing clearly shows us how vulnerable a woman can be after getting widowed unluckily – not only emotionally but also financially – if she has a brother like Habib.
On the other hand, Samina (Maria Wasti) and Fakhir (Samar Abbas) are falling prey to conspiracies by Habib. He doesn’t want to lose grip on the family business, so he and his wife can fully enjoy the earnings of the business.
Mayi Ri’s Latest Development So Far:
One big development of the story is the expulsion of Annie from school because of being constantly absent. This has been due to her pregnancy and then childbirth. She is been expelled despite being a bright student. She portrays the grief of being expelled brilliantly when she says that no one in the society or the family can understand the significance of education for girls. One after the other struggle is hitting her very hard. However, she tries her best to stay composed and bear the loss whether it is the deprivation of fatherly love or the demise of her uncle. She has to take care of her minor daughter and suffers an injury at home when she slips on the floor. But the newest episode of expulsion from school has a deep effect on her and she has to go through the toughest period of her life ahead.
Family politics is the center point of the story alongside the marriage at such a tender age. Viewers have criticized the portrayal of Annie as becoming a mother at such a fresh and college-going age during the last episodes of Mayi Ri. It is a sensitive matter and people were right to criticize. Anyhow, right now she has to solve the issue of her education immediately which is a tough ask.
Samina and Fakhir have to get hold of the family business once again to stay in command, otherwise, Habib alone is going to take control of the financial matters who is a greedy person.
One thing lacking is that the characters are getting no respite. Also, the matter of getting daughters married at a young age is a frequent part of the story which makes it hard to digest.
