The first episode of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum (KMKT) has gone on air. The intro episode has given us a clue of what the story is. It is quite evident that the marriage of Adeel (Emmad Irfani) and Sharjeena (Haniya Amir) is not at all going to happen and unfortunately she will end up being with Mustafa (Fahad Mustafa).
Humsafar’s famed Farhat Ishtiaq wrote the story and script and this may be like Humsafar with the clashes between an odd couple who are imposed on each other due to unfavorable circumstances.
Fahad Mustafa’s come back
It is welcoming to see Fahad back on the small screen after a long gap. How well his comeback performance goes, is yet to be seen. However, his fans are excited. He knows about gaming, hacking, and software but is wasting his talent for a few thousand rupees. He’s a non-serious young man who is scolded by his father all the time. His character will be tested when he has to deal with the odds.
Typical relations and characters in the story:
The stereotypical characters of father and son, father and daughters who are going to be married soon, and non-serious young men who lack ambition in life… these things have been shown in many stories. Let’s hope for a different and better plot.
The story of a contrasting couple that fails to form a bond:
This is the story of a couple poles apart. Sharjeena is a well-behaved, caring, and loving daughter and sister. She is also brilliant in her studies and will have to deal with a near-loser. Most of the time girls are on the receiving end and their life is ruined due to the evil societal norms. These norms are shown as normal in drama as they are very deep rooted in our society and mindset. Sharjeena and Mustafa will have to go a long way to accept each other and the coming ‘long way’ will be desperately a painful one.
Dowry is a curse but it is still going on:
Sharjeena’s father insists on giving money to the groom but his standards are very high and he refuses to accept it. Why girls and their parents are shown being silent on this insulting behavior? Why don’t they speak up against and reject it?
Good camera work and editing:
Badar Mehmood has a good camera and editing team who have brilliantly done the switching between different camera angles. The sound and lighting were also good.
Actors are fit in their characters
Fahad, Emmad, and Haniya have acted smartly in their roles. Drama has been awaited by the viewers as they wanted to see Fahad Mustafa. He and Haniya have successfully created the necessary hype and buzz, no matter whether they like the story or not.
Impressive TRP on premiere Episode:
Drama serial Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is off to a great start and got a TRP of 9.3 It promises us excellent content ahead as the future episodes progress.
We have got the main crux of the story of KMKT with the very first episode. This is an intense drama and emotional one which expects to be successful. Let’s wait for what Sharjeena will do when Adeel refuses to marry her and the character of Mustafa comes into play.
