The story and plot of the last two episodes:
The last two episodes of Jaan e Jahan have been largely a desperate journey of emotions for all the characters, with things going his way for Taimoor and otherwise for Kishwar Begum, Shehram, and Mahnoor.
We have witnessed a dead end for both the male and female lead as they are parting ways. After a beautiful and satisfying romance between them, we now see them both as grieved and victimized. Their enemies are succeeding in their plots and the couple is on the back foot, compelled to do what they never wanted to.
Journey and evolvement of the characters thus far:
We saw the exquisite and graceful relationship of Mahnoor with Shehram against the odds of family and society. However, at the end of the latest episode they both are set apart and isolated due to societal pressure and the one from the families in particular. Special mention should be of Mahnoor as she is facing the hardest of challenges being a female. Gulzaib and Zeenat have also been through the toughest phase of their life.
Mahnoor’s father has proved to be a typical one who can’t succumb to societal pressure and is marrying his daughter against her will. And Mahnoor who didn’t afford the harassment of her sister, couldn’t bear the pressure of the character assassination by Kishwar Begum and got ready to marry Taimoor. Love should never be so fragile. Her decision to marry Taimoor is not only hurting herself but also becoming the hardest test for a beautiful human being like Shehram.
A bit of unexpected change:
Mahnoor has proved to be a weak character who is unable to sustain the family’s pressure to accept the proposal of Taimoor and the foul words of Kishwar Begum. It is a sorry situation for her not to be that brave to take a stand for her love. This is going to bring her and Shehram to nowhere. How much hurtful love can be, we have seen in these two episodes.
Acting and performance:
Not only Ayeza Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi but also other characters have done justice to their due roles. Desperation of Shehram on hearing the news of her engagement with Taimoor, Shehram making his mother realize that he now knows the truth, Mahnoor giving the news to Zeenat of her marriage with Taimoor while keeping her calm, congratulating Mahnoor on her new journey by Shehram with an ice cool composure… we saw great performances in a few of these scenes.
What to expect for the next ones?
The new twist in the tale is the marriage of Mahnoor with Taimoor which is now final. Is it going to happen easily or should we expect a way out for the loving couple? Let’s wait and see what is in store for Mahnoor and Shehram.
