Tamasha is one of Pakistan’s biggest reality TV shows, season II which is going air these days. It has been brought to us by ARY Digital. It is hosted by none other than Adnan Siddiqui, a very well-known TV actor who has now become a host as well.
Let’s have a look at what Tamasha really is. It is based on the Dutch reality show Big Brother. Big Brother was followed by India later with the name of Bigg Boss. The format is that the contestants are housed in a confined place for a certain period while being completely isolated from the outside world. Each week, all the contestants nominate two of the other participants for elimination. The one, who garners most of the votes, will have to have a public vote. That way one by one the number of participants lessens. Lastly, the contestant who stays till the last day of the show will be the winner.
We have been watching India’s Bigg Boss on ARY Digital during previous seasons when Indian content was allowed on Pakistani channels. Following the same idea of Big Brother and then Bigg Boss, ARY Digital has brought a local reality show for the Pakistani audience. The idea clicked and garnered quite a handsome TRPs and liking for the season 1 so the channel continued with its second season.
This season’s contestants include:
Amber Khan, Aruba Mirza, Michelle Mumtaz, Zainab Raza, drama writer and actor Ali Sikandar, Faizan Sheikh, Adnan Hussain, Danish Maqsood, Natasha Ali, Neha Khan, Nida Firdous, Rana Asif, Umar Shahzad, and Junaid Jamshed Niazi.
The core idea of the show is the same; however, it brings its own entertaining features. Participants have to perform certain tasks during which there are conflicts and confrontations, emotions, intrusions, etc. and these are the spices to make a delicious recipe. People can also vote for their favorite participant which gives us a glimpse of how popular someone is among the audience and within the house also.
The last season spanning over 42 days but this season we will see 52 or more days of the contest. Though, things are scripted certain spontaneous and dramatic actions and reactions of the participants keep the audience hooked and interested. In season II, we have already seen a fiery start with some dominating actions by the participants, Junaid Niazi and Danish Maqsood. These are the ingredients that make the reality show a much watch.
