Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali are working together for the first time in a drama serial. Unlike her previous victimized character in Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, Mahira Khan this time is playing the role of a powerful and dominating woman, who has come a long way and become a bari sarkar from a lovestruck young girl. When that long journey approaches a new and unexpected point, things almost come to a standstill. What comes next after that particular point is not disclosed, but viewers can imagine what may be the ending of a love story like this.
This is a mega serial for Wahaj Ali as well, as he plays a high-status character of his career. His character encompasses a long journey from a young man falling in love with a girl to a strong and sturdy convicted criminal coming out of jail.
Class difference is a major component of the story; rather, it can be called a driving force for the main conflict. It is shown as a reason for disdain by the female lead toward her past loved person. In a scene, Mahira Khan utters a line depicting disliking a kammi (low-level person). It would be interesting to see how she deals with that kammi who has been her loved one in the past.
Story and direction:
Faiza Iftikhar has come up with a powerful storyline this time, while her previous work has been mostly typical love stories or marital/social/in-laws issues. This can be described as a welcoming change.
Syed Wajahat Hussain is the director who has many hit serials to his credit, including Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 and Case No. 9, both for Geo Entertainment.
