The talented duo of Wahaj Ali as Junaid and the fascinating Hareem Farooq as Fari, play the main characters in 22 Qadam.

In the 7th and 8th episodes of 22 Qadam, we found a series of appealing developments that keep us interested. However, those are the continuation of the conflicts that have been going on since the previous episodes.

Fari finds it very hard to search for girls and create a cricket team. Additionally, she is scolded by her teacher for indulging in cricket and not focusing on her studies. Her friend, Naz Karyana, somehow succeeds in luring some girls to come to the trials. After failing to create a team, Fari has to help herself to form a 2-member team. Now she is able to participate in a double-wicket tournament.

Amber, the elder sister of Fari, is also disturbed because her fiancé has gone to Germany and now, she is more concerned than ever. What if her fiancé refuses to marry now?

On the other hand, Aliza finds herself in new trouble: her father wants her to become the captain of her cricket team or participate in the family business. The third and final option for her is to marry Junaid. Junaid also likes her but his first and foremost interest is cricket.

All the characters are fighting against the odds with no immediate respite. The play must be admired due to the fact that it is one of the rare stories that are based on the sports genre. Fari is a bubbly character who brings freshness and newness to our screens and shows us a new dimension of girls’ lives: they can play cricket or any sport if they find a conducive environment from the family and society. Fari’s passion for cricket and going to any lengths to fulfill it shows us that girls too can have dreams and go for them.

One sister goes for her passion and dreams and the other just wants to marry as this is considered the single goal of a girl’s life in Pakistani society. Both the tracks are parallel in the story and have been dealt with brilliantly despite being completely opposite.

The title, 22 Qadam, marks the 22 yards of a cricket pitch. As the center point of the story is cricket, the title justifies it well. Green Entertainment is bringing some unexplored stories and themes to our mini screen which is surely a praise-worthy and daring attempt in a drama industry like Pakistan. Let’s see what happens in the next episodes of Fari’s pursuit of realizing the dream of her life.
