Shaan Shahid, a renowned actor in Pakistan, boasts a successful career with numerous blockbuster films to his credit. However, in recent years, his cinematic endeavors have struggled to replicate the earlier success. Following the monumental hit “War” in 2013, there were high hopes for him to play a pivotal role in the cinematic revival, but regrettably, these expectations were not fulfilled.

Failure following blockbuster film Waar:

Turning to his recent filmography and upcoming projects, it’s worth noting that after “Waar” in 2013, he starred in Spy Thriller “021,” directed by Jamshed Mehmood Raza, released in 2015, which initially showed promise at the box office but couldn’t maintain its momentum, ultimately earning around 5 to 6 crores for a lifetime. Coincidentally, Nabeel Qureshi’s directorial debut “Na Maloon Afraad” was released alongside, achieving notable success with a box office collection of approximately 15 to 16 crores.

Coming back to the direction:

In 2017, Shaan Shahid marked his directorial return with “Arth – The Destination,” a musical drama film inspired by the work of renowned Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt and his film “Arth.” The movie boasted a star-studded cast, featuring Shaan Shahid himself, along with Humaima Malick, Mohib Mirza, and Uzma Khan in leading roles. The film’s trailer and music garnered significant attention and acclaim from the audience. However, despite the initial buzz, the film faced a disappointing outcome when it was released on December 21, 2017, failing to live up to the expectations at the box office.

Additionally, Shaan Shahid appeared in the multi-starrer war-action film “Yalghaar,” but this production also fell short of achieving significant box office success, with earnings reaching approximately 17 Crores.

Shaan Shahid made a much-anticipated return to the silver screen nearly five years later with the release of his film, “Zaraar.” opposite Kiran Malik but again this Spy Thriller Patriotic Film couldn’t impress the audience. However, the producers of this project asserted that the film had amassed approximately 15 Crores globally. It is worth noting, though, that these numbers appeared to be greatly inflated, as the film struggled to attract audiences, both domestically in Pakistan and abroad.

Upcoming Movies of Shaan Shahid:

Departing from the familiar territory of spy thriller genre films, Shaan Shahid is poised to make a grand return to the big screen with his forthcoming project, “Red, White, and Green.” This film delves into the intriguing world of Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency, ISI, and the American Spy Agency, CIA. Presently, the movie is in its pre-production phase, with the script firmly in place and production slated to commence early next year. Notably, Shaan Shahid will don the director’s cap for “Red, White, and Green” as well.

Shaan Shahid’s next project is an as-yet-untitled romantic comedy, currently in the developmental stages with the script in its early phases. While precise filming commencement dates remain undisclosed, it is anticipated that the film will grace screens in 2025. This marks a substantial interval since Shaan Shahid’s last foray into the realms of comedy and romance, making it intriguing to observe how he will be received by cinema enthusiasts this time around.
