The ninth and tenth episodes portray the miserable situation of Wafa (Ushna Shah) and Tehzeeb (Saba Hameed). These two episodes brilliantly show how fragile our men’s egos are. They are unable to accept anything contrary to their choices and likes. Whether it is a father, husband, lover, or cousin — all of them are so unsupportive of women and girls.
Story and script
9th episode is all about Wafa and her miseries. First, she has to accept the blame and the stigma on her character and then has to marry against her will. It shows us how a supportless girl is at the mercy of her relatives and she has to accept whatever fate comes her way.
This episode shows us the resilience of Wafa despite all of her unfortunate circumstances. She successfully pleads the case of her mother, Hawwa (Arjumand Raheem) as well as of herself. Saalis (Usama Khan) is dumb and senseless as he doesn’t know how complicated are the consequences of his lying about Wafa. He wants to save his relationship with Shifa (Yashmeera Jaan) but he loses all due to his stupidity. Also notable is the uncontrollable anger of Farjaad (Adeel Hussain) who is now getting punished as his love Wafa is now forcefully married to his rival cousin, Saalis.
The 10th one is about the problems of the newlywed couple who are thrown out of the home. Saalis is unable to take responsibility for his lies. Tehzeeb has tried her best to keep the relationships intact but her brothers are so stubborn that they are not ready to forgive her even after so many years.
Now things have got much more starker for Wafa as she has to bear the brunt of this ill fate. Usman’s wife and Farjaad’s mother portray the typical nature of our women who don’t give a second thought to stigmatizing any girl.
Performance
9th episode is all about the performance of Ushna Shah. She has given great performances previously and this character is another memorable one for her acting career. Saba Hameed has also once again shown her class as a senior. She acts brilliantly as a helpless wife and daughter, and a loving mother for both her son and Wafa. Other actors have also done well like Waseem Abbas as a typical husband and father. Babar Ali too has a great experience working on TV since his early young age and whatever character comes his way, he gives a great performance.
What to expect next?
Things are most likely going to be harder for Saalis and Wafa after being deprived of a roof over their heads. Moreover, Saalis is unsupportive of his new and ‘imposed’ wife. Now the only option left for Wafa is to find financial support and a roof over her head. She may go back to her stepfather (Aijaz Aslam) also. Farjaad may not forgive himself for what he has done to Wafa and Shifa.
